[Album] Epik High - Pieces, Part One

Aug 15, 2008 Author: makkun | Filed under: Albums, Epik High

Old album, yes I know, it’s just that I can’t get Umbrella out of my head, and I thought you guys might want to hear it also. Younha’s voice here is so strong, and a bit haunting! I’ve seen her live performances of Umbrella, and she never ever ceased to amaze me. Can’t wait for her succeeding albums or singles, either Japanese or Korean. Anyway, I haven’t finished listening to the rest of the songs in this album so I can’t make final recommendations yet, but do check out Umbrella. Kekeke. And oh, sorry for the slow updates on anime. My attention’s diverted to something else at the moment. [Download links after the cut].

[mini-ALBUM] Big Bang - Stand Up

Aug 11, 2008 Author: makkun | Filed under: Albums, Big Bang

Big Bang is one of the better performers/musicians in the Korean Music industry. I think I mentioned this before, but I don’t like Hiphop very much, but Big Bang is another exception. It helps that they are a group of cute guys, especially T.O.P. Kyaa! [Download links after the cut].

[mini-ALBUM] KARA - Rock U

Jul 27, 2008 Author: makkun | Filed under: Albums, KARA

After a long break KARA returns with 2 new members and a fresh look… Nah, I was kidding about the fresh look. They have become exactly what most girl groups in South Korea are: typical and forgettable. Yes, I’m a little disappointed. They stood out last year because they weren’t trying to be too sexy like Wondergirls, or too cute like SNSD, but were just hanging in there and working hard each day. Their clothes were simple, their dance steps weren’t infectious, but their music was unique and they sound great. After listening to the songs in this mini-album, I realized one thing: KARA was gone the moment Kim Sung Hee left. Anyhow, if you’d like to know the best song in this min-album, I’ll say it’s track # 5.

[Album] EXILE - EXILE Entertainment Best

Jul 21, 2008 Author: makkun | Filed under: Albums, EXILE

EXILE is one of the few Japanese Groups I listened to (and almost fangirled about) back in College. They still sound great, even if it has been.. what, almost seven years? Their music leans more to Pop Ballad/R&B, and even though I detest R&B my whole life, their songs are actually pleasant to the ears. In this album, check out My Fantasy, Scream and What is Love. For the lulz, listen to Manatsu No Kajitsu (a Southern All Stars original.. This will remind you of a certain Tagalog song). [Download links after the cut].
