Iku’s interrogation didn’t turn out quite well, despite the script that Lt. Chibi-chan prepared for her. Rumors about her involvement in the unjust book burning started spreading like wildfire, until her colleagues started avoiding her. Eventually she was invited to join the Library Affairs Committee, however the true purpose of that meeting didn’t really involve her. At the end of the day, Iku finally discovers who her Prince Charming was.

The following day was Promotion Test Day, given to first class librarians like Iku, Shibasaki and Hikaru. The practical test involves reading books to children. Hikaru asked for Shibasaki’s help since he’s weird around kids, while Lt. Chibi-chan volunteered tutoring Iku for the written exams. Will the two hot-heads pass?

A random book drew Black Star’s and Death the Kid’s attention to the holy blade Excalibur. It is said that whoever gains the power of this sword will attain eternal victory and glory. Meanwhile, Soul has recovered from his last battle against Chrona, though unaware of the black blood that is slowly consuming his human mind and body.

Shinkurou went to seek Benika’s help. It was decided that they should leave town, however, Shinkurou wouldn’t leave without proper goodbyes, thus the two returned to the Samidare Apartment to spend one more night with Murasaki’s friends. As expected, the Kuhoins arrived with some femme fatale who sent Shinkurou and Yayoi groveling dirt. There was nothing else to do but watch Murasaki walk away in helpless tears.
