Friends, huh?

Takashi discovers an old train ticket from Reiko’s belongings. Curious, he visits an old station and there he meets a dumb but charming Youkai named Santo. Takashi couldn’t get much information from Santo, so Nyanko suggests using the Book of Friends to let him see Reiko’s memories. With that settled, Takashi helps Santo find his friend Mikuri, another Youkai. Upon reaching the station of Kiriganuma, however, they were attacked by earth spirits, who, according to Nyanko, feed off Mikuri’s anger and hatred. Things get complicated as Mikuri reveals himself and demands the Book of Friends from Takashi.

Rating: ★★★★★

I always get excited whenever Takashi releases a spirit from the Book of Friends. Why? Because he gets all sexy and serious, but totally cute. I really love his angelic face and the way he handles himself in front of humans and demons. Yes, he is terribly shy, but you can see that he is also brave and responsible. Damn, I wish there are real guys like that. His overall package is insanely irresistable. (Mou, Enough fangirling already!!)

This episode was touching. A Youkai with a soft heart for another Youkai? Now that’s something new. What I’d like to point out is the fact that this show really puts up an effort in making each side character unique, and each story is unforgettable. Standalone episodes, yes, that’s it! Not knowing what’s next, who’s next, when’s next, is the real prize of Natsume Yuujinchou.
