“Don’t even think you can beat me at a magical duel!”

Lina is desperate to catch Pokota this time, and in the process she ends up destroying an entire forest. Zelgadis has always been against her wild ways, but upon Lina’s mention of the possibility of Pokota knowing the cure on his chimera, he sets off on his own to catch him by himself. He did catch Pokota but immediately learns that the weird guy doesn’t know anything, and reveals that he’s just after destroying the magical tanks before some villain steals them for his own use. Amelia was encouraged by his noble mission. She joins forces with him to destroy the magical tanks, with helpless Zelgadis tagging along. Meanwhile, Lina has her own plans in luring Pokota out. And thus another village is destroyed.

Rating: ★★★☆☆

I don’t like Lina in this episode. She purposely destroys an innocent village just to get Pokota chasing after her? She’s selfish in this respect, and her dangerous magic almost killed Amelia. Despite all that, all three remain true and faithful to her, especially Gourry who she always kicks around.

Taking everything into consideration, however, I believe-no, I want to believe that Lina only accidentally aimed for Amelia because her view’s limited but she’s actually aiming for Pokota. Pokota is actually somewhat responsible in their predicament. If only he explained right away, he wouldn’t have earned Lina’s wrath, and the other villages will not be dragged down with them.

I don’t think this show is good for kids, especially with kids nowadays - they will believe everything! (remember that kid who died because he was buried in the sand with his friends who are Gaara fans? *shudders*). Lina is such an irresponsible character, and a protagonist at that! Still, you can’t deny this show is so funny, and for that alone I’m still watching it.
