I do not wish to stay in a place that ignores someone when they speak of their sadness.”

Benika and Shinkurou lost round one, so they had to race back to her car. When Benika came back with unconscious Yayoi, Shinkurou was already gone, skiing his way back to the Kuhoins. Upon reaching the Inner Sanctuary he meets the head of the household, Renjo Kuhoin. Will Shinkurou be able to finally break the tradition that brings nothing but sadness and misfortune to all Kuhoin women? Meanwhile, there’s some unfinished business between Yayoi and Lin; and Benika and Ryuuji.

And so Kure-nai ends. Looking back, I had few complaints about this show, and there was never a time that I lost interest or became bored. My only gripe would probably be the unexplored personal lives of Yayoi and Benika, who had major influence in the overall story. Still, it’s a good treat for viewers who have medium attention spans.

OK, so here goes a bit of fangirling.

If Brains Base had to brag about their works, Kure-nai will serve as their most excellent display. At first I thought I was watching a BONES show, but I doubted my eyes, so I checked ANN and realized it’s all Brains Base. I checked further and noticed they have few productions. I wonder why they aren’t getting that much deals considering the quality of their work *cough*SUNRISE*cough*.

Kure-nai has a good and stable plot, which makes it easy to go along with the flow of the show. The major characters have their own unique personalities, strengths and weaknesses. No one stands out more than the other, and each gets his/her own moments. Perhaps it is better to watch anime shows with 13 episodes or less, because it automatically follows that there are less characters to create, thus time well-spent on character development. This doesn’t apply all the time though. Also, not everything depends on character development. BUT there are lengthy good shows that are better off with less characters *cough*SAIYUKI*cough*.

The fight scenes are awesome, as I have been saying many, many times already. There are enough to satisfy the barbaric hearts of most fanboys and some fangirls, and a bit of lolita stuff, for sick weirdos.

I’m giving Kure-nai an over-all 5/5 rating because it kicks ass.
